What makes Powerform different?
By design, our system considers all factors that influence the human body and the necessary foundation work that is ideal before development toward elite performance. We also provide access to experienced personal trainers and form coaches to give you confidence in every step of the journey. Other programs may throw you into set workouts or tell you a specific nutrition plan is best for your needs. Instead, we direct you into a graded program based on what your body is capable of, challenging you in a safe and effective format. We provide a continuum of workouts for any starting ability level, and recommend adjustments only after learning about your lifestyle habits and environment. With our highly experienced staff, we will be sure to give you advice based on accurate information relevant to your needs. Warning: Be open to questioning some of the false information, connotations or mindset principles you may have learned in other programs. In order to obtain true and meaningful fitness, you may find yourself straying from the herd.
I’ve already passed my prime. How will Powerform help me?
A house can only be as strong as its foundation. If you are at your perceived prime or have already passed it, we take a look at your foundation components such as neutrality and cardiovascular efficiency to see if we can build you a larger base. Continuing through the progression, you will be able to get back to a certain level or higher. If you are out of your prime due to injury, you may still be able to perform well again with proper guidance and time to recover. The goal becomes “beat yesterday” which allows you to move forward towards each fitness objective one day at a time, regardless of age.
What diet does this training require?
The important thing to remember is that the body responds to the signals we give it, and a radical change to diet too soon may cause just as much harm as eating something unhealthy. That being said, a rocket cannot take flight on unleaded gasoline.
Is Powerform a website or an app?
Powerform is currently a web app, using design patterns you’ll typically see in smartphone or augmented reality apps, but accessed through a web browser at the domain www.powerform.fit. This format of the product allows us to add features more quickly while maintaining availability on desktop and mobile devices.
What is next for Powerform?
Powerform will continue to add more features, workouts, Fitstyles, and content over the years. The vision is to be a go-to source for activity-specific workouts that fortify and enhance athletes for whatever they are passionate about. While a lot of other workout protocols will train you for the workout itself, Powerform will always focus on delivering tailored workouts specific to your training motive.
Training
What difficulty level should I start at?
Even if you are a seasoned workout Veteran, what we do here is quite different. Based on your previous workout experiences, we would recommend that you select from the beginner levels if this is your starting point in fitness. If you are able to run and jump with comfort, begin with the novice levels. Professional athletes and fitness connoisseurs can start at the intermediate level. This level recommendation should be relatively easy for you, and will allow you to experience the system. Make no mistake however, things ramp up quite quickly so do not skip the lesser workouts.
How does this system train me for my specific sport?
The Powerform system allows you to develop the necessary athletic elements that your sport requires on the field. The workout components are designed to prepare your body for the physical strain and biomechanically correct performance of running, sprinting, jumping, etc. as well as the mental toughness required to advance as an athlete. Learning the specific skills of your sport comes with your team’s practices or mentoring from experienced players.
What parts of the body am I building?
Powerform targets all parts of the body with extra emphasis on the groups that appear to have the most injuries in a specific sport. Standing components focus on stability of the ankles and proper extension limitations of the knee without locking. Other components strengthen shoulders for throwing endurance or layout landing. Overall, it is important to aim for balance when developing your physique so there are limited openings to injury.
How many activity periods can I have during the week? Can I do other training activities at the same time?
Our system is designed to be used no more than once every other day, up to 4 times in a week. That is the protocol only if you have no other activities such as practices or conditioning drills. Based on your team’s schedule we can find your appropriate balance between rest and activity. While skills application is necessary and allowed, it is not recommended doing an additional workout program that can give you skewed results from Powerform. While “no pain, no gain” is a popular motto, being cruel to your body without enough time for recovery makes it develop in a spastic panic mode, which usually leads to restrictions in movement or incomplete/vulnerable areas.
What kind of results can I expect to see?
Results are generally noticed within the first 1-2 months, with 3-4 months providing more radical changes to body recovery and performance. Below are results clients can expect to see if reaching the end of the Powerform progression.
- Better standing and sitting posture with more energy throughout the day.
- Development of active and useful muscle for performance, not just show/surface muscle.
- Better cardiovascular activity for energy transport and faster recovery phasing.
- Increased sprint speed, jumping height, etc.
- Better body control for biomechanically efficient performance and energy conservation.
- Additional strength for injury prevention in contact or overstrain situations, provided the body is properly prepared.
- Better preparation for contests with timing of nutrition and optimized hydration habits.
- Virtually no pain/restrictions after long competitions. Your body is so efficient it can return to neutral within 12 hours or even less.
Terminology
What is a Form?
A form is an established position or movement of the body with static hold times or dynamic repetition counts. Just like a yoga routine has multiple poses, a Powerform workout consists of multiple forms.
What is a Fitstyle?
A Fitstyle is an intention, motivation, or focus of a Powerform workout’s design. Using the Advanced Training Techniques Inc. protocol methodology, workouts with a Fitstyle are perfectly tailored to fortify and expand athletic ability in anything from general fitness to ultimate frisbee, to rock climbing. Account
How do I create an account?
Currently, all new accounts are created by lead trainer Brent after prior assessment.
How do I change my name, email, password or payment method?
All account information can be edited through the “Account” settings in the main menu. Name, email and password can be changed in the “Profile” section. Payment method can be changed in the “Membership” section. Additionally, passwords can be requested to reset at the bottom of the sign-in page.
How do I change or cancel my membership?
To change your membership, simply select a different membership on the Upgrade or Membership page. To cancel a membership, click “cancel” next to the current membership shown in the “Membership” section of your Account settings, accessed through the main menu.
